On June 2 we wore orange for National Gun Violence Awareness Day and in memory of a Chicago teen who was shot and killed in 2012. As a McLean mom of a teenager, I can just look at the daily headlines to know gun violence can strike anyone and anywhere and this is a scary reality.
Virginia's Educators Endorse Delegate Kathleen Murphy's Re-Election Campaign
Delegate Kathleen Murphy has received the endorsement of the Virginia Education Association (VEA), the largest community of teachers and school support professionals in the Commonwealth. With over 60,000 educator members across the state, the VEA is a fierce advocate for the improvement of our public schools, and is active in supporting Virginia legislators and policymakers who represent the interests of our parents, schools, and children.
This week, Delegate Murphy announced her expanded “office hours” schedule in an effort to provide constituents more opportunities to meet with her across the 34th district.
“I am always looking for ways to be more accessible to my constituents,” said Delegate Murphy. “I encourage anyone to make an appointment to speak with me by phone or in-person. But holding office hours has been a great way to visit the different parts of my district and offer more folks a chance to sit down one-on-one and closer to home.”
